Clarity with conviction.
Study with humility.

The Word, Made Clear helps readers engage with Scripture in clear language while keeping careful comparison close at hand.

Conviction with transparency

The author’s statement of faith

Read James Childers’s full statement from the final English Matthew edition, alongside his photo and biography. We share these convictions so you can understand the perspective behind the paraphrase and study notes and evaluate the work against Scripture, which remains the final authority.

Bravo Zulu Ministry

A free gift.
A shared invitation to grow.

The Word, Made Clear is a free ministry of Bravo Zulu Media, offered to our readers and as a gift from us to the world. Our purpose is to help people encounter Scripture, grow in understanding, and follow Jesus Christ.

Our YouTube ministry brings together Bible teaching, One Minute Bible Truth videos, and praise and worship music through Psalm and Ember. Through Scripture, teaching, and music, we encourage readers and listeners to explore their faith and put it into practice.

The online Bible reader requires no purchase or account. Published paraphrase and in-depth study-guide editions with Translation and theology notes are available separately for purchase in print and electronic format.

Scripture comes first.

The biblical text governs the paraphrase. Study notes distinguish what the passage says from interpretation and inference. The project’s original-language source remains the basis for the work; comparison translations help identify questions that deserve closer attention.

A reader and a study-guide series.

The free reader presents TWMC, KJV, Greek, and Romanized Greek verse by verse. The companion study guides provide space for fuller discussion of context, wording, and theological questions.

Built book by book.

The four Gospels and Acts 1–28 are currently included in the English reader. All 28 chapters of Acts have been reviewed and cleared by the author for this edition. The site’s book pages provide room for the rest of the New Testament as the work develops.

Across languages.

Matthew can be read free in English, Spanish, and Kiswahili, with English KJV, Greek, and Romanized Greek included in every reader. Published study-guide editions are also available in all three languages. Language pages keep each edition’s identity and distribution information together. The Kiswahili edition uses Ingram distribution.

As the ministry grows

What’s next for the reader.

Our goal is to keep refining this website and develop a companion Bible-reading app, making it easier to read, explore, and return to Scripture.

The Old Testament, too

Our long-term goal is a Septuagint-based Old Testament reader using Brenton’s Greek Septuagint, available in the public domain from eBible.org. It will pair the TWMC paraphrase in the selected language with English KJV, Septuagint Greek, and Romanized Greek. We will consult the Hebrew text during development and explain differences in wording and verse numbering. Decisions about additional books in the source edition will be addressed separately.

Search across the reader

Find words, phrases, people, and passages across the available books and languages. Search within an individual chapter is already available; broader search is planned.

Meet the people in Scripture

Follow links from major biblical figures to descriptions and biographical profiles, with relevant passages and connections to other people in the biblical account.

Follow themes and explore Greek words

Explore major biblical themes through linked passages and explanations. Planned Greek keyword entries will include definitions and explanations of how a word is used in context.

A companion app and continued improvements

We plan to bring the reading experience into an app and continue improving navigation, accessibility, study links, and the website as the project grows.

These features are project goals and are not yet available. We will add them in stages as the work progresses.

New: explore the Greek words

Explore Greek and Romanized Greek words throughout all available English and Spanish reader chapters. Tap either form for the same word-study entry. Unavailable parsing and missing dictionary entries are clearly marked.
