How to use Greek word study
You do not need to read Greek to begin. Tap an underlined word in either the Greek line or the Romanized Greek line: both open the same entry. Where reliable data is available, you will see the dictionary form, grammar, Strong’s number and a definition. Choose “More meaning and grammar” to explore further, then “Close” to return to the passage. Drag the top bar to move the panel and scroll inside it to see more; the Close button stays visible.
A dashed underline marks unavailable parsing; a double underline marks an unavailable dictionary entry. We do not fill these gaps with guesses. Dictionary definitions offer possible meanings; context determines the meaning in the passage. Our Greek text and its Romanization remain unchanged.
Through baptism, we were buried with Christ in His death. And just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too are meant to live an entirely new life.
KJV
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

We know that our old sinful self was crucified with Christ, so that sin's power over our lives would be broken and we would no longer be enslaved to sin.
KJV
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Don't give the power of sin any part of yourself to use as a weapon for evil. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, as people who have been brought from death into life. Let every part of you become a weapon for righteousness in God's hands.
KJV
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Don't you understand that when you surrender yourself to someone as a servant, you become obedient to that master? You can surrender to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose obedience to God, which leads to righteousness.
KJV
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
I'm using the familiar example of slavery to help you understand this because of your human limitations. Just as you once surrendered yourselves to impurity and lawlessness, sinking deeper and deeper into the depths of sin, now surrender yourselves to righteousness, allowing God to make your lives holy.
KJV
I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

But now you have been freed from sin's dominion and belong to God. Your new life produces righteousness, leading you toward holiness, and ultimately to eternal life.
KJV
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
